We recently finished the *final* Harry Potter.
So as not to spoil -- all I'll say is there is really no need to indiscriminately kill folks to tidy up your package as an author. Reminds me of my "previous life" -- "editing" others' stories to make them fit into a neat little bundle that everyone would "get." I think I failed more often than not on that count!
Perhaps the HP "slash and burn" is karmic justice for my messing with others' stories.
